Caryb1975
Thanks for the replies guys! I have a blending block from Bass Tackle and like it but sometimes I have a little trouble shooting with it. I was searching and saw this and thought it was very interesting. Anybody know who made it, and why they stopped making it? Looks like it should have been pretty easy to handle.
mark poulson
Didn't Frank do a video using a blending block, and multiple molds?
mark poulson
Bob, I just watched the embedded video from the Bass Tackle twin injector link above, and, lo and behold, there's Frank! Doh!!!
Frank
I am here. Have been real busy lately. Have a lot of work to do and not enough time to do it in. And yes Kevin asked if he could use my video to show how to use the Twinjector. He has always gotten a lot of questions from people on how to use it so there it is. While the one in the picture looks easy to use there is a lot of human error that can be had with that.
edgecrusher
Yep, You can imagine that there would be a reason it isn't made anymore.
mark poulson
I figured it would be your busy season Frank. I once had a coworker warn me against doing a really tough job too well. "Do it well, get it steady" is what he said. He got laid off pretty quickly.
2Brits
Wow that's an old one, I haven't seen that for a while, we made it for Bear years ago. Go onto our site ultramolds.com and send us an email. I'm pretty sure we've still got all the parts.................somewhere
Apdriver
It looks to me like a blending block would be more efficient in the clean out cause you can take it apart. On this part, you would have to wait til it cooled sufficiently to harden the plug and pull it out. I think it would take more time.

I actually found this far less cumbersome than 2 injectors and a blending block, moved from mold to mold faster and easier.

Frank
While the concept looks easy and simple in my eyes you spend more time filling two injectors and mounting them than filling both at the same time. Not to mention trying to keep equal pressure on both injectors. I put a large thumb screw on my block so with one spin it's off and a spin to go back on. It also make a great handle to move it from mold to mold. These injectors did not fill fast either due to the small hole in the nozzle. gone2long
It was the cats meow when it first came out but as it always goes with this hobby it got bested and that's not a bad thing either.
Apdriver
It looks like a nice piece of equipment. That being said, Frank brings up a great point. I knew there had to be a reason it went the way of the do do bird.
