steve71
Can someone help with getting green pumpkin to look right? I like yum green pumpkin as well as zoom but no matter how much green pumpkin coloring I use it stays transparent and don't really get the more opaque look that the manufacturers I mentioned is getting. Bassinfool
If by opaque you mean cloudiness that's the salt in the bait.
ipt
the best way to get opaque baits other than salt is to add a drop of black and a drop of white. then add your GP to your liking.
steve71
Yes sometimes I dont want salt because of floating ability and it is a little difficult to get the green pumpkin to look right without the salt. Frank
You never said whose colors you are using. There is no green pumpkin that is the same. If you want a green pumpkin like zooms them use Spikeits 156 it is browner and more opaque. For a more opaque army type green use Spikeits mustard yellow and black to the standard type greens. Basically most all of the others out there are transparent so adding these two colors will opaque then out.
army-boot
I've had zero issues with hte basstackle colorants. The more drops the more opaque, and you can get it quite opaque without white or black imo. Bad picture but gives you an idea of the difference. First pic is 5 drops in 4 oz second is 10 I believe in 4 oz.
mark poulson
I find that black flake makes my green pumpkin darker, too.
alsworms
I find that black flake makes my green pumpkin darker, too. That's a really good point. I remember when I first started pouring, I made some basic pumpkinseed worms for a friend of mine. He did well with them in a tournament and wanted more. I guess I made the next batch with too much black flake because I got the ol' "Dude.......these are WAY too dark!" LOL And that brings me to my next point........... When you DO get your mixtures right, make sure you write 'em down!
