Senkosam
I just ordered a gallon Baitjunky plastic because of all the positive posts. Calhoun and Spike-It plastics were considered. Any great difference between the three?
toadfrog
That is like asking the difference between Budwieser and Bush beer . I'll drink either one and be just as happy . So if you get some beer or plastic you don't like . Please box it up and send it to me . Beer First . So when I get hot plastic on me I can hold the can to the hot spot . patrick reif
I think it's the same thing. I use Baitjunkies and have been completely satisfied. Need to put in another order soon.
ipt
everyone's got good plastic, my advice is to try them all. factor in the quality of plastic, price, availability, customer service and make your own decision!
fishon-son
Calhoun makes the stuff ..baitjunky,and spike.it buy it and relable it as there own....so I think your getting all the same stuff.....remember..there is only one formula for plastisol and a lot of relabelers.... Spike it's plastic is manufactured by Color Technologies (who happens to own spike it and lure works) so no it is not Calhoun plastic they sell but rather it's their own. Calhoun manufacturers their own, MF mixes their own, Lurecraft mixes their own, I have heard DoIt's is Poly One (just what i've heard albeit from a reputable source), Chemionics manufacturers their own as well. There are quite a few formulas for plastisol, It all comes down to the quality of the resins etc. used in the plastic. X2 how you heat it will also play a role the best plastic out there is the one that works for you based on a number of varialbes such as heat times, injection or hand pour, amount of additives you choose to use and so on, get some samples and make an informed decision. Senkosam
Unless Lurecraft has improved as far as their plastisol's fast settling is concerned, stay clear. I bought weedless jigs with weed guards that fell off with a little pull. I was told to send them back at my expense for an exchange. Haven't ordered from them in five years.... Service is as important as product quality.

gone2long
I'll say Lurecraft was my 1st 5 gallons and loved it, that said it does settle so if your like me and only pour now and again it may not be for you but I liked it. didn't smoke bad and I liked the finished baits after curing. Still using up my Chemionics supersoft then not sure what's next maybe Spikeit.
mark poulson
You guys are going to make me go out to the shop. Leonard sent me some Bait Junky's to try, and I just haven't cooked it yet. Time to make some baits again soon. I'm almost out of salted melon / pearl Club-Os and I am completely out of watermelon / black laminated Curly Buzz Frogs. My own fault really. I keep putting the darn things on the hook and tossing them in the water. Bob, it's not your fault, it's those damn fish!
toadfrog
There are no problems with Bait Junkies Plastic . Bob you just get those machines of yours going . NO more fishing till I get a pic of a new creation . I'm going to put a Cherokee curse on you If ya don't send some pics .
