robalo01
I had an accident recently and will need surgery on my shoulder, so Injecting plastics is out of the question for a few months. I am training someone to do that for me to keep orders going out. So, I am going to get back into hard baits (Been out of it for 6-7 years). I want to craft models from wood, make an RTV mold and cast with resin. I am trying out some epoxy resin I can get locally and will likely be adding micro-balloons or another buoyant filler. I will probably start with top waters, then wakes and jerk baits, but I will inevitably need to make some deep divers. Any advice on where to buy lips? I really don't want to get into making my own. I really like Bagley style baits. I have a few that tie directly on the bill and they have a wire that follows down into the balsa, but I am skeptical about them actually being wire-through baits. Anybody know if they are? Stephen
robalo01
One more thing. Is anybody casting two sides (to add rattle chambers) and then gluing together?
Matt Moreau
Any of the lure making websites have diving lips pre made Janns Barlows Lure Parts Yes there is a video on youtube of a guy that casts each side then connects them. For me it looks more like a PITA more than anything! Just put a glass rattle in your baits!
