RayburnGuy Posted June 10, 2014 Report Share Posted June 10, 2014 You'll need to know whether it's an oiled compressor or if it's designed to run without oil. If it's an oiled compressor it has a piston, much like that in a car engine, and the oil lubricates the piston as it moves inside the cylinder. For this type of compressor you will need an inline filter designed to catch any oil that slips by the piston and finds it's way into the air line.
