patrick reif
My wife had an irregular shaped mole cut off her face last week. The biopsy revealed it to be stage 1 melanoma. We're going to have to see a specialist in Winston-Salem soon. She's working on the appointment now, but we're not certain when we can be worked in. Wear sunscreen when you're outside guys. It's just not worth the risks to blow that off or deem it un-needed.
subsailor618
Very sory, to hear that. I wish you both the best! Definitely watch out for the sun! Both of my parents had bouts with skin cancer, brain cancer took my mother. My dad still wears long sleeve shirts and hats when outdoors. TroutSupport.com
I've had stuff cut off as well. I totally agree with you about protecting ourselves. And I'm sorry your wife had to go thru that. Should all be fine after its removed. Sun Screen is mostly chemical... not really the best option. Chemicals cause just as much skin cancer as the sun. If you use a sun screen find the most natural version you can. The best is to cover up with a fabric... face cover etc. How many people have had a cancer inside the area a shirt covers. I really like my Simms shirts. They are light and have a breathable mesh on the nose / mouth area.
bassrecord
Best wishes to your wife and you. The dermatologist removed a 5cm place two weeks ago from my top lip and the biopsy came back non-malignant solar ketosis - pre sun cancer. All my fishing is under a ball cap - should be under a wide brim hat. Besides minimizing cancer, big fishing hats reduce fish hooks in the ears. Maybe I better switch, if the Flip-Focal can be mounted in the wide brim so I can see to tie on anything.
