Cub48
I have tried that type of clamps and had the same problems u are having i might have one that was good but the next one would have flashing around it. i even went to the larger ones and had the same results. Know another guy he uses them all the time no problem.Cub48
DaBehr
Flashing is often caused by the plastic being too hot. Get a good digital probe thermometer (Do-it has the one I use). FYI...infrared thermometers are for taking the temperature of solids.

alsworms
I don't believe there was any "bashing" involved. He clearly stated in an earlier post that he hoped it didn't sound like he was bashing them; just had a few questions. I think we've all come across road blocks that seem to punch us in the face. I've sure had my share and turned to the good members here at TU for advice. At any rate, it sounds like Do-It took care of the problem and all is well now. Hopefully, the mold will shoot well now. Good luck with that.
joelhains
The new mold shoots great! I wasn't bashing them at all. Just asking questions. I sent the first mold back to them and they told me it wouldn't seat properly. All is good and Do-It is a top notch company! I have already reordered from them and I plan to order more from them in the future. Before Accusing me of bashing please read thru the thread first... elrat69
Interesting post. The pictures of the mold look actually like my Caney Creek Molds from Jason & the same from Do-it. They don't do any kind of metal finishing to the mold before sending it out. so the side is actually like the raw aluminum stock; just as Frank has said. of the molds I have bought most companies do this. Bass Tackle (only one) thats seems to run a red or green belt sander over their sides to make them look nice. Its been years since i have metal finished anything. If you don't like the look I'm sure a red scotch bright from 3M would make your mold look nice.
Downeaster2010
I have had that blow out on some of my craw molds with a hinge. i discovered that I was trying to force too much plastic into the mold. Once restriction is felt, then normally the mold is full. No need to keep pushing.
