New To The Art

I have just found the awesome world of lure building, I am honestly blown away at the stuff on this site. But I'm left without knowing exactly where to start. With that being said if some of you more experienced builders could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I'm wanting to just start with painting crankbaits, if I could be led to the best paint, blanks and the best airbrush kit, it would be enough. Thanks for reading.

Check out the youtube airbrush videos.  There are a ton of free videos out there.

Practice, practice, practice.

Practice painting on a white sheet of paper or cardboard, so you get a feel for the airbrush.

Develop a cleaning routine to use after each color, so you don't clog the tiny channels in the airbrush nozzle with paint.

Do a site search for cleaning airbrushes and you'll have a lot to read.

And don't be intimidated or discouraged.  Most of the great stuff you see here was done by people who started out just like you.
