mcdanman
I bought a paschhe air brush unit, complete with compressor, needles, 3 tips and some createx paint. Now all I have to do is learn how to use it. When I try to spray water it sprays a little while, 3/4 stroke and then sputters. Please tell me what I can do to stop this problem. Also inform me on the functions of the different needles and tips. I would think the diff. tip are for thin, broad, speciality work. I am completely new at this and would really appreciate and advice.
Coley
I believe your airbrush came with instructions and practice lessons. Coley
jaime
there are a number of reasons why your paasche is "sputtering". Could be due to low pressure (should be kept between 18 to 25 psi for Createx), tip dry (whereby the paint collects at the tip of the needle not allowing to flow properly), and loose hose connections. the three needles and tips that come with the airbrush are not only used for different degrees of detail but also for different paint viscosities. the # 3 needle is the one used the most. It is capable of spraying wide lines as well as some fine ones. the best way to determine what your airbrush can do is to practice spraying lines, dots, squares, etc. There should be a pamphlet that come with the airbrush which has excersises on basic spraying techniques. mcdanman
I failed to mention that I bought the air brush second hand. Thanks Jaime for your comments. No pamphlet on practice exercises came with it. I will do as you suggested and see what happens. Coley, know you didn't know I bought it second hand and it didn't come with inst. Should I have to add water to thin createx down so that it will spray through the tip? What do you use to keep the paint from going past a certain point? How do you make the scale patterns on the lures?
