Hookemup
Has anyone had good results with any water based urethanes? Do they dry faster than the solvent, or oil based ones? Any reccommendations?
BobP
Water based urethanes may be water resistant but they are not waterproof. If submerged or left sitting on a damp boat carpet for some time, they take on water, become soft, and turn white. You can let them dry again if they are water logged and they return to their original state and clarity. But most guys won't appreciate the need to do that when there are waterproof solvent-based alternatives. I've tested a couple of them and can't recommend them. RayburnGuy
I've tried a couple of the water based urethane's as well and in one case the bait developed hook rash after only one afternoon of fishing so durability was a problem for me as well as what Bob stated.
