CNYRodman
Love to Ice Fish with Tungsten but would like to make my own jig or modify existing lures. Any advice is appreciated. I build rods, mostly ice rods so I'm totally new to lure crafting. Looking fwd to building other lures and baits as well. Thanks in advance and thanks for a great forum! Nathan
You may want to put this down in the wire bait forum.. You might get a bit more help...Nathan
Anglinarcher
You cannot pour tungsten, at least not in your normal at-home or small lure shop. You can mill it, but it is not so easy to mill and is brittle. If your reason is to get away from lead, you can buy tungsten powder and mix it with epoxy, pour it into a silicone mold, and get lead like density without the lead. The tungsten powder and epoxy will never be as dense as pure tungsten. Not much help, but the best I can do for you. You can get the tungsten powder at makelure.com in their lure making accessories section.
