Redsnook1125
What is the best way if there is one to color tails without lamination. The mold I have are one color but im looking to color the tips of tails. Any ideas?
Bassinfool
Spike it dip and dye will bleed to other colors once in the bag. I would shoot the mold with the tail color you want and then cut the tail off and shoot the body color like suggested above. That's what I've always done. If that's too much work, or you just want to do it faster, look into buying a designated tail mold.
Adamcodman
What about dipping the tail? I've haven't tried it yet but plan on it this afternoon. I've bought plastics before and I'm pretty sure the tails were dipped in another colour
Bassinfool
When I've dipped tails and put them in the bag the dye has bled out onto the other baits. The best way to do it is to either buy a tail mold or to shoot the entire bait in the tail color and then cut and leave the tail then shooting your body color. It's painstaking, tedious work but in the long run it will give you a better looking, more professionally finished bait.
