Flats
I've been talking with Ledhead lately and we've done a little brainstorming. ( Thanks for the ideas today, Sonny ) Who else mainly fishes/ builds for saltwater? (I'd also like to know if there's any other 'Yak fishermen)

LedHed
I like to fish both Bluewater and Inshore but if it came down to one or the other ? it would have to be Inshore.
JIGMAKER
All of the jigs I make are for the saltwater.
JIGMAKER
Most of the fishing I do is inshore, pier, surf or yak.
Flats
Cool, it seems like a lot of yakers are DIY types so I was thinking a lot would make their own stuff too. JIGMAKER, I see your in MD, how's the crab's @ Capt Billy's this year? (can't remember the name of the place next door but my wife is from LaPlayta and always takes us there)
JIGMAKER
Flats, I have not been down to Capt. Billy's yet this year. I have been talking to a lot of people who have been out crabing. There are alot of heavy crabs in the tributaries. Many people are reporting that they can catch a bushel in about an hour on a trot line. cavu
Most of the fishing I do is saltwater; inshore and near shore. Almost all the lures I make are designed for salt water.
MarshManiaC
I guess I run about 75% salt....inshore...I only venture to the deep stuff when I'm invited. I much prefer a big red in 12 inches of water.
siebler_custom_baits
inshore to me is usually 60-100 feet of water. about what i can paddle too in my yak. Offshore here is albacor, yellowfin, bluefin, dorado, that kindof stuff.
Flats
On the east coast inshore means intracoastal waterway, marsh creeks, shallow flats. Believe it or not 30-40# fish can be in water < 12" (inches) deep. Deeper, non-ocean water is called bay fishing, Near Shore is somewhere ~ 5 miles out. Then there's Offshore. I'll fish anywhere
