Probably wasn't metal flake, idk if anyone even uses metal flake in plastic, most likely polyester, which is fine in the microwave wouldn't make a difference (real metal flake has been some of the best I have used actually) it isn't metal that arcs in a micro, it is very shiny reflective surfaces.
