Jdeee
The resin that I use is only available in a dark tan colour and I would like to turn it white without painting it as I loose some detail. Does anyone know of a way of adding colour without affecting the properties of the resin?

Matt Moreau
Tap Plastics has Dyes but they are for specific resins they make. They may work you can check. You could always just buy Alumilite white resin. Its not my favorite but it works and its pure white when cured.
Pickadoll
I am using Smooth On products both for resin and silicone. They are also selling coloring for the resin in many different colors. And they are not affecting the properties
jmac13
Hey guys i have a question regarding the resin. Does the resin like smooth on and alumilite float ? or do I need to get the featherlite resin? I am molding a 6 in rat wake bait that I made. Thanks
Jdeee
Both companies make floating resins or you can add micro balloons to make them float. They also make 2part foams that cure rock hard but these will float on the surface and take a lot of lead to sink them, it depends how deep you want your lures to be in the water. goolies
Hey guys i have a question regarding the resin. Basically it is a 2 part resin that has microballoons premixed into each part. Over time the balloons separate and rise to the surface so you have to shake it vigorously every time you use it. I buy the resin and microballoons separately and mix them myself. Solid lures made from Urethane resins will sink without adding buoyancy. Just make sure you wear a mask when handing the microballoons.
