LimpNoodle
Rosey's is having a pretty decent sale on powder paint right now.
LimpNoodle
Received my order of paint from Rosey's yesterday. Painted some lure bodies today. Paint seems a lot denser than the ProTec. I had to fiddle with my fluid beds a bit but that's not a problem. Just enforced the fact that I need to get my vibration table built. Liked the paints so much I placed an additional order this evening to take advantage of the sale. Some of the powders are as low as $3.25 a lb. Do you remember the old vibrating hockey game from years ago? That would make a great multi-bed vibrating table.
LimpNoodle
I've got a aluminum baking sheet, tapered springs and a cheap orbital sander. All I need to do is put it all together.
Fatman
Some of the colors are more dense but not all of them, I have some I traded for and I also use a bunch from Columbia Coatings. On those that seem denser just add some clear powder and it makes it work just fine in a fluid bed.
MO dock boy
Hello all, first post for a newbie here! I've just been looking around the site for the past few days reading all I can before I made a welcome post. BUT seeing as how I'm almost out of protec powder paint in several colors and I stumbled across this post tonight I figured I would post. Just for my curiosity, how does this paint compare to protec brand as far as coverage and ease of use etc? I've never used anything besides protec and just recently made my first fluid bed. Just lookin for info! Thanks and all you tackle makers are great! Love this site already! Rob
LimpNoodle
It covers quite well. As stated some of it is a bit denser than the Protec so mix it with some clear.
Fatman
Never had a problem with any of it. Even if you buy it by the lb. you can always trade others for different colors. Do it on other jig boards and in material swap box's. I've mixed it with other colors for custom mix's with no problems either.

LimpNoodle
Trying to order some more clear from Roseys and it says the shipping method is not available. Driving me slightly more nuts.
Kasilofchrisn
Trying to order some more clear from Roseys and it says the shipping method is not available. Driving me slightly more nuts. I had the same issue. I had to back out and reconfirm my shipping and it went through fine. Somehow it had changed on me.
LimpNoodle
I've tried three different browsers, tried backing out. Tried restarting the computer. Can't seem to get it to work.
LimpNoodle
Used some of the new Rosey's paints to day and I'm impressed. The pearl white from Rosey's puts the Pro-Tec pearl white to shame. Lots more pearl and it covers slabs in one coat,
BLT
Do you remember the old vibrating hockey game from years ago? That would make a great multi-bed vibrating table. Don't remember that one, but the old football game I used to have.
