joelhains
Any idea where I can find some gold powder paint? Protech has a color called "gold" but it looks more yellow than what I'm looking for. I'm looking for paint like what is pictured. Thanks

smalljaw
The gold in the picture is plated, and that means you aren't going to find paint to get it like that. There are 2 kinds of gold powder, there is a regular gold and a transparent or metallic gold, I use the metallic for a perch pattern and the regular gold for a ghost minnow pattern. You can get your own stuff plated but it will cost a good bit so you better have at least 1,000 that you can sell because it is very costly to do in small quantities. cadman
On your gold plating there is roughly a $75 to $100 lot charge for plating. It might be more or less in your area. So if you send them 100 or 1000 you will still have to pay the lot charge. Edited October 6, 2014 by cadman
Fatman
This isn't plating but it's a nice Solar Gold - it's Jacquards PearlEx, I mix 2 tablespoons of clear to an 1/8th of a teaspoon of the Jacquards I got mine in the PearlEx Systems 2 package but you can order separate bottles of each color. joelhains
I don't want to mess with gold plating. That seems a bit overkill for a $5.00 spinnerbait! Fatman, looks like what you've done should suffice. has anybody tried the "Disco Gold" Protech? Looks good too.
Fatman
Haven't found any of the craft stores yet that carry the single bottles so you may have to order from the bay or amazon. When I got the Systems packs I had coupons for 50% off one item, ran me about $13 and change.
