CustomBaits4You
Does anybody know how I could go about molding clear crankbaits with the bill? I want it to float, any help would be appreciated.
mark poulson
There was a guy here a while back who posted a video on how he did it. I can't, for the life of me, remember his name, but he did it and his system worked. So try the search tab at the top right, and maybe look at the tutorials. You could use smooth-on products (crystal clear is for industrial use though..) You can also try a clear casting epoxy resin by smooth-on as well. As far as making the mold, it'll be a lot of trial and error making that as well as the 2 halves of the crank bait. I'm new to lure making and i'm casting my crankbaits using Feather-lite by smooth-on. I'm still trying to get the hang of bill placement.. jonister
Do you think you could take you favorite store bought crank and cut in half with a band saw and mold?
token12
I wouldnt recommend that or risk it, only thinking of the legal aspects.

jonister
I don't think there would be legal issues if you altered it some, and you probly wouldn't have same rattle, wire, ect, and who cares if your not selling them. wouldn't it practically be the same thing as re painting a store bought lure?
