Ichthus
I'm not sure if anyone has asked this or discussed this before but has anybody here tried to make curved lips like the ones on the newer Rapalas. I've seen the action on these baits with the curved bills and it really is magnificent. However, ive seen these baits fall apart on more than one occasion. Has anybody tried their own "scatter rap" before?
sonoman
The overseas guys , fellas from Finland have been doing that style for years, I do not have links but I am pretty sure you can buy those type lips ready made from vendors from across the pond....I will dig around some and see if I can find that info. mark poulson
Lexan is easy to bend over a round form if you heat it. Just don't overheat it, or it gets brittle. If you use a metal form, like a piece of pipe, try heating the pipe itself, and lay the Lexan over it and pressing down with another curved piece. Hazmail Pete does it with hot oil, if memory serves. Ichthus
sounds cool! I was figuring if I wanted to do it I would need to either heat the lexan and form on a pipe or heat the lexan and kind of roll it across a clean, flat surface but I believed the pipe might be the way to go! I do like the idea of heating the pipe too.

sonoman
Go to lurelovers.com, find a forum called the lure shed and under that heading is "finnish stuff for lures"...it has a link to commercially available scatter lips....or in that same area are several tutorials and pics on making a press to build your own...I couldn't link it for whatever reason....Good luck Bryan
