CustomBaits4You
I have been researching custom crankbaits and BB Lures painted the best baits I've ever seen. Does anybody have any idea how's someone would go about painting with such detail? Edited November 7, 2014 by Rickimaro
Musky Glenn
There is a lot of different details going on with that paint job. What I do is look at each individual feature and decide how that was painted then work out an order in which each one was applied. You Tube is a good place to see videos of actual lure painting. Silo1688
I notice several different ways that bait was completed. My first suggestion is to look at the colors between the scales first and work your way out. Like layers. that should give your answer. Write it down, then the best part is to test it out. RayburnGuy
The first thing would be to learn how to get really good with your airbrush. Ben

I've been using an airbrush for a little over 5 years and I'm still a hack.
Skeeter
Another thing that you should do is get some quality paint. Quality paints flow so much better than the cheap stuff. You don't want overspray and you don't want grainy looking paint. A really good airbrush will put the paint only where you want it. Imagine painting that bait and when you shoot the blue you mess it up! There is a lot of tallent and skill in that paint job. And that my friend, is all up to you. But remember.... he did it and so can you. Good luck! Skeeter
CustomBaits4You
The quality paint is a good point, I use the cheapest stuff I can find. 50 cent bottles of actinic paint from Walmart. Thin with water and it works, but I have some createx and it's a lot better.
