joelhains
Any body use MF 5.0 plastic yet? What is the difference between it and the regular plastic? I am nearly out of plastic and was about to order another 5 gallons of regular soft from them but they are out of stock and I saw this stuff. Thanks
alsworms
Personally can't help you with the 5.0, but I'm blown away that they're out of regular. That's kinda like Taco Bell being out of tacos!

bryanmc
I dont know who makes mf plastisol but zeiners has it. My understanding is that MF makes it in-house.
Frank
I used a sample that was sent to,me. Works just like the original but looks clearer when heated. Maybe a little thinner when heated also. Set some in a window sill awhile back and they still look great.
joelhains
I called and talked to MF this morning to ask about the 5.0. This is what he told me. He said it was clearer, cooked quicker, was about the same firmness as the regular formula, possibly slightly more flexible and less expensive. All the additives (heat stabilizer, softener, colorant etc.) used with the regular formula will be compatible with the new formula as well. Bubbles and settling shouldn't be an issue either just like the regular formula. Also sounds like all these differences are marginal. the biggest advantage of the 5.0 over the regular formula is the cost is lower. I plan to order a gallon to test myself before making my next 5 gallon order.

smallmouthaholic
Jeff sent me a 1 gallon sample last month.Good ,consistent MF quality that their previous plastisol products have. Never a hard packing problem,no bubbles and non-sticky finished product w/ excellent color retention.
Shane D
At the moment it's only $6 cheaper on 5 gallons on their site. Is there that much difference in the two formulas? I buy M-F from Zeiners saves me some on shipping. But they don't have the 5.0 formula. Edited November 16, 2014 by Shane D
