Skeeter
Beautiful paint jobs. You do good work. Skeeter
SpoRoller
Thanks Skeeter. Coming from you that is a big compliment. All the folks on this site have taught me a lot. This is the best place for a beginner, such as myself, to come and learn. Of course, once the painting monkey jumps on your back he just won't leave!! Terrydabassman
Wonderful work SpoRoller. I really like the iridescent blue Rogue...well, all of them. Keep em coming, ya got tons a talent.
SpoRoller
Terry, that rogue is actually simple. Base coat of pearl white then overspray with transparent turquiose. I have found that using transparent colors over pearl white causes an iridescent glow to the top color. Also, lightly spraying transparent colors over flat white gives a color shift effect. The things one learns while playing around! Thanks for the compliment also.
the-bass-catcher
Those are all fantastic looking baits! I've only made a few handmade baits, and mostly just paint and repaint lures, and I have to say that those are way cool. Are you using Createx paints? Any tips on how to get the blue tiger look? Thanks and keep up the outstanding work...
SpoRoller
Yes, I use Createx paints. The blue tiger is yellow gold base (home mixed, don't ask the ratios because I just mix until it looks right [scientific]) and pearl blue back and stripes. I have a stencil I made for the stripes. A little splash of bright red on the throat also.
RiverMan
Very nice, I particularly like the blue colors.......blue has been good for steelhead here in my neck of the woods. Jed
