BuckMaxx
I have been making some vibrating blade baits. I tried using a split ring and a treble hook but it keeps getting hung over the top. I see some others use a double hook looks like a mini frog hook) that slips thru the hole. What are these hooks called? What size would I need for a 3.8 blade bait? thanks!
Roadkill
They are simply called "Double Hooks". LPO has them. Size is a personal preferance. I use #4 or #6.
bass100
Blade baits are a standard for us here in PA. If if is about lure making then the double hooks will make it easier for you but if it is about fishing then standard split rings with regular hooks is far superior. You will loose far far fewer fish with split rings and you will also hook up alot more. I use #2 split rings with #4 mustad treble hooks for my blades. This combination keeps my hooks from tangling. Hope this helps.
cadman
I use split rings as well. This is all personal preferance and what works for you. The hooks you are referring to are Mustad Clip -in Treble hooks, style 7790x. Edited December 2, 2014 by cadman
