cavu
Do we ever do a swap here. Looks like this forum would be custom made for such an event. It could ber specific, such as deer hair bugs, salt water flies or fresh. I'm, not much on tying clasic fresh water flies (Royal Coachmen, etc) but do pretty neat deer hair bugs and my own design of a bass streamer type lure. Postage sure would not be much on a swap like this.
deadlystreamer
Let's see how much interest we have in such a venture at this time of the year. Personally I would like to see a fly swap in the late fall when things slow down a bit. What do you think? It can be done but I think we would need at least 10 participants. cavu
Later would be fine with me, especially with the current jig swap going on and the "rumor" of a salt water jig swap in the making. I too would like to see if there is any interest for a later swap on this forum.
deadlystreamer
Yep, Three swaps in the running right now. Jig, Soft Plastic, and Salt water in the making. I think it might be better to wait a bit. But of course if you have time to tie up some pretty sexy neat looking beauties now, then tie away and you'll be ready for the swap when we have it. Let's shoot for late fall when you need a rest from deer hunting and the cold weather if your lucky enough to get any where you are. Any more suggestions from anyone else? LedHed
I would like to get in on the ?Fly swap? also. Am in the same boat that cavu is (jig swap and up coming saltwater swap). Most of the stuff I tie is small, wet patterns, and attractors. Also tie fly patterns on ultra-lite jigs (this would be a good post ?is it a jig or is it a fly? hmm?). I?m interested in anything custom tied. Late fall would be great.
Striperknight
Do you guys have a set of rules for your swaps?. On sites where expectations not stated clearly I've had some swap disasters.
deadlystreamer
Do you guys have a set of rules for your swaps?. On sites where expectations not stated clearly I've had some swap disasters. Hello Striperknight, This will be our first Fly swap and when it gets underway, we will have a set of rules to follow. The swap hasn't been given much thought at this point due to other swaps coming to a close at this point of time. We are shooting for the late fall as things slow down for everyone. Stay tuned. VARick
I just completed my first swap on another fly tying site. Is this going to take hold here? My preference would be saltwater .. but I can be flexible with basic freshwater. Rick
badfish03
I've done hundreds of swaps and would be interested also. Bass or Saltwater would be my preferences though. Robert
