Snoopy
Does anyone know if there is anyone Who might still make a sauger jig mold in 3/4oz and 1oz ? I hope that is the right question to ask ...
cadman
What is a sauger jig mold and what is it supposed to look like? I used to fish for walley, sauger and saueye, and I always used a round jig bounced on the bottom.

cadman
You have to use the more reply options on your post and then upload your pic. If it is too big, then put it on photo bucket, and paste the link here.

Saugerman
I make a 1 oz. sauger jig, that looks like the one in the picture. I used the arrowhead do-it mold for years, before changing to the 1 oz. erie jig. There are several jig molds that do-it makes that will work. The do-it walleye jig mold only goes to size 3/4 oz. cadman
The top pic in post #5 is a Do-It "Style H" jig mold. They still make that mold and it bgoes up to 4 oz. You can either get the ball collar (BTH-5-A) 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 1 oz or the PGH-5-A with the barb which has the same sizes as the other one I mentioned. The second pic it is a more rounded jig, the arrow head as mentioned or the chub mold both have 3/4 and 1 oz cavities. gaspumper
The second picture looks like a walleye jig head do-it made made a mold seven cavity 1/16 to 3/4 oz. model JW-1070-A now discontinued, they replaced it with Model JW-7-A2 7 cavity 1/16 to 5/8oz.The new mold has a slightly different profile then the old mold.I tie the old style with bucktail for wholesale retail,I don't really care for the new model I was lucky to find a old style mold on ebay. Snoopy
Im sorry it took so long to reply! I think it is awesome how anybody can ask a question or post a picture and there is someone somewhere that can answer your question not just from the guy down the road but from across the nation. On this site TU ive seen men and women young and old from the extreme new beginner like myself to the professional that has been at it for years or even decades taking a moment out of there hectic life to talk about what they love to do!!!!!!!! And it all has to do with fishing ....... So I thank each and everyone that has a response, an idea, a thought, an insight, a word of encouragement or that just has something they want to say !!!!!!!!! When you create something and your wife or son or daughter can catch a fish or a monster fish and to then see the HUGE GRIN on there face its all worth it !!!!!............ smalljaw
You are correct about this but I happen to like the new style, I tie bucktail to the ones with the ball collar and use them for river smallmouth in the winter, it is a good jig for rock. That said, I have a good friend that uses the tear drop jig and I believe they make that one of those molds with both the 3/4oz and 1oz cavities. My buddy uses that one in 1/4oz and 3/8oz for a slower fall but he likes that one because it uses a heavy hook. Good luck!
