Coley
Anyone other than myself having trouble with this website. When I come here to the home page, I get a blank page that says "done" in the bottom left hand corner. Then after about a 30-40 second wait the TU home page comes up. Moving around in the forums is about the same, some times I have to get completely out and come back in. What about this Jerry?? Are we having some problems with the site?? deadlystreamer
Coley, I'm glad you mentioned it. I'm having the same problem. My PC is doing the same thing. I've been wondering if I have a problem. I had mentioned it to Jetty over a week ago, and he never said anything. So I just thought I had a problem. When I open a page, it'll show open and it'll be 40 to 45 seconds before the page opens. It's trying on the nerves when you are trying to view 4 or 5 threads. I can move all over the net with no problem. Here on my favorite and most often visited all day long site, I think there is an overload some where. What do you think g8r? woodsac
Same here. I think the problem lies in the banners? If you watch closely, the page will struggle at some point, and it will list the name like 'fishhoo' or one of the other banner names. I'm referring to the ad banners at the bottom of the page. redg8r
I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I thought it was the website & ran an evenings worth of diagnostics to optimize all the files & analyze any problem spots, nothing turned up. I checked my pc & found my pc settings had been changed after a recent upgrade to my firewall. After making a couple adjustments to my firewall program (notably the cookie handler) the site loaded like a breeze. if you have any browser enhancing software like antivirus, ad-stoppers, firewall, etc. check your pc, but if others are having the same issue, please let me know & i'll look further. Thanks Jerry' date=' It's a shame we need such intense virus protection, that could be the problem here. I'll be looking at it to see. I already turned off one setting, the privacy Service protection. That seems to help a little.[/color']
cflbasser
You guys want want to run a spyware checker like spybot or adaware (or both)... They are free and can really speed up internet browsing if you have tons of spyware on your machines. I had a user in at work (I'm a comp. programmer, by the way) that had 250+ spyware files on her machine. She could not browse to any web page without it doing exactly as your describing above... I finally got her moving again simply by running both of the spyware checkers above... Just a thought...

woodsac
I frequent the board from 3 different computers on 3 different servers. All of them suffered the same symptoms. Slow, slow, slow. I run SpyBot on my home computer on a regular basis, every couple of weeks. I haven't changed anything on any of the 3 and today TU is lightning fast! Not complaining, just stumped as to what was causing the slow down for so many people, and now it's suddenly 'up' again?
Mylures
Sometimes I have the same problem. One time it will be fast and the next time I'm not sure its going to load up or not. Very frustrating. Its not the same each and everytime. Thought maybe it was just my old computor. Its getting old and slow like me. Coley
Well, it only solved my problem for a couple of log-ons, its back slow again. I ran spybot and there is nothing there. So, it must be something else. This is the only site I have this problem with. Coley
