Cmfontenot
I have a Do-It Bullet Bass Jig mold that calls for Eagle Claw L2221 hooks. I was in my shop the other day and noticed that the 5/0 hooks are smaller and light wire. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with different hooks that has come across a stronger hook than the L2221? Thanks in advance for any and all help! cadman
Yes there are three alternatives. Mustad #32886 or Mustad #91768 or a 30 degree Gami, will fit that mold. The Mustad #32886 are strong hooks.

edgecrusher
If a mustard 32886 fits a EC L3886 should too, I use these in a poison head and like their strength
cadman
If a mustard 32886 fits a EC L3886 should too, I use these in a poison head and like their strength Yes they are compatible. The EC version is less costly than the Mustad version. I have also found that the EC version is slightly thinner in diameter than the Mustad version. Don't know if that matters to the OP Edited January 30, 2015 by cadman

But I will look into the EC hooks as well. This will definitely give me a good start. Would any hook with a 28* bend fit in this mold? cadman
Yes a 28° or 30° hook should fit. However all hook sizes will not fit all mold cavities. Edited January 30, 2015 by cadman
