Tc_firefighter311
Looking to make my own missouri craw skirts. Anyone know what colors and strand count of each color?
Bassinfool
Depends on whose skirt you're looking to match. Most are a combo of black, pumpkin seed and a little chartreuse/banana seed. I like to do a half tab of black, 1 1/2 tabs of pumpkin seed barbed wire and then just a little bit of chartreuse maybe 1/4 of a tab. Adds up to around 45 strands. cadman
Below is a skirt from fishingskirts.com #276 (Missouri Craw) with a matching jig head. You might like this skirt as it's an all in one, instead of putting strands together. Just a thought. There are a lot of interpretations of a Missouri Craw, some darker and some lighter depends on what appeals to you, and the biggest critic the fish. Apdriver
Eakins is black, brown black Barbwire, and 4 strands Chartreuse. 40 to 60 strands depending on how full you want it.
Painter1
I always wondered why they use that name. I have yet to see a craw in Missouri that looks like that. Most are rusty, dk olive, green pumpkin with a bit of orange during mating season. Not saying the color is ineffective, just chuckle at the name and wonder about what the real color is of an Okachobee Crawdad.
EironBreaker
I think the black layer has green flake also. I can't remember if the barbed wire has green flake in it as well or not
dblades
Thinks it more where it became popular, than the actual crawfish color.
