Mr_Scrogg
Any tips for painting these? Currently I'll hold the wire and hook eye with needle nose, heat and dip. Tap on side to get excess powder off. Works OK. But can slip out and start swinging when tapping.
Jig Man
That is similar to the way I do it only I heat the head before taking it with the pliers. That way the pliers don't get warm enough for the paint to stick to them. After dipping I wipe down the hook eye and wire with a Q Tip to get any paint off before baking. cadman
I hold mine with forceps and they don't slip at all. Grab the foot ball head by the ring, while holding hook in hand. Heat head, swish, tap hang on rack.
mark poulson
I use old, aluminum needle nose pliers that have semi-smooth jaws from long use, so it's not an issue for me. I actually have the jig hook line tie shape in the jaws from powder paint residue, and I use that to orient my jigs when I'm heating and painting them.
