Wraped Skirts

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I just found out my current supplier of wrapped silicone skirts is no longer able to get the white skirts. Does anyone know of a supplier? The skirt is much like the Terminator Skirt and is 3" long and pure white silicone. My customers really like this skirt and my supply is about gone. Thanks, Joe

I called Z Man yesrerday and was told they no longer make the wrapped skirts. The person I spoke to said she did not know of any other suppliers. I know there are some out there because I'm still able to get skirts in colors other than white. Did Hydro Silk give any date as to when they may be up and running? Do you have a phone no. for them? Thanks, Joe. I'm going to keep checking around and will let you know if I find anything.

When you say wrapped skirt are you talking about skirts with the collar already on?

Also are you looking for an all white silicon skirt w/ no metal flakes?

If so the sell the all white skirts in Stamina, $17.10/100 and the collars also. Stick the collar on a pair of pliers, spread them and insirt a couple of skirts. You can also but a tool that does this.

I hpoe this is the info you need.

Mr B , the skirts I'm looking for are the Terminator type skirt. It is 3" long and pure white silicone. I also use the skirts that you mentioned, but many of my customers prefer the wrapped skirt because when it is on the bait, the skirt has a lot more flair to the shape as opposed the standard pairs held together with a band. Thanks, Joe

Joe, Im sorry I am unable to view the pics that you posted. It sounds like the skirts you are speaking of are the kind that have the collar wrapped under the skirt on one end of the skirt. Kind of like what was put on the tail of a hula popper. They have some skirts like that in Janns called Breather Skirts on Pg 9 of the 04 catalog. They dont really look like solicone though but they dont say what they are. Check em out. This might be your old supplier though, if so sorry. I did not see the name of your supplier.

Hi Guys, Sorry about the pics. I thought I posted them correctly, I'll try again when I get home tonight. Yes, the skirts I am looking for are the Terminator style skirt with the colar. Much like the flat rubber quick change skirt on many of the older style baits. Things were crazy yesterday and I did not call Hydro Silk, Iwill call today and let you know what they say. The rubber skirts can be had from several suppliers, but the silicone is harder to come by. Thanks, Joe

OK , lets try this again. The skirt on the left is the Terminator style, or quick change skirt. This is the one I am having problems finding in white silicone. I talked to the girl at Hydro Silk yesterday and she is having her boss call me today. I'l keep yopu posted on the progress. Joe

Richoc, I just ordered a skirt tool this week. I have several customers who really like the flaired effect of the Terminator style skirt, that is why I have been pushing so hard to find the white ones. Have you used the plastic flair colars on any of your skirts to give them a fuller look? I was thinking that may be a solution to my problem if I can't find the other skirts. I called Hydro Silk and am still waiting for a return call from the owner. Who would you recomend as the best supplier for skirt material if I were to start making my own skirts? Thanks, Joe

No have not tryed the flairs yet.

But I make mine much fuller than most people do.

I put 2and 1/2 pads in to make a fuller look, if needed.

You will really like making your own.

Trick is to make a hooked pull through wire, to pull the strands in.

I also, on rubber tear them in smaller strip before hooking

them through, makes it much easier.

I really like the flair I get from the round living rubber.

Get it local if I need small amounts, buy my bulk from.

www.livingrubber.com

Been so long since I bought any , I must have 100lbs.

Others may have it also, at basic suppliers.

Just wanted to give an update on the hunt for wraped skirts. NO LUCK! I did hear back from the lady at Hydro Silk and she sent me a hard back binder with sample skirts. The skirts range in price from .17 to .22 each by the 100. The sample book is very nice and she had it out to me in a matter of a few days. I'll keep you posted if I find any new info. If anyone would like a sample book, I'm sure all that is needed is a phone call, that is all it took for me. Joe The phone no. is listed on one of the earlier post on this topic.

Terminator skirts are not rubber or vinyl, they're silicone..that said, I don't know of a supplier other than terminator..

But you mentioned the reason your customers wanted these was the increased flare they provided..Perhaps you could accomplish this effect cheaper (and offer your customers custom colors) by using umbrellas/cones?? I know stasmina among others offer them, in fact barlows has a quick tutorial on their use on their site...you could then use whatever skirt pads you chose...
