aulrich
I have an iwata revolution CR, and it seems I messed up the threads for the nozzle cross thread maybe but it almost looks like if I could find the tap the thread should clean up. Has anyone dealt with something like this.
dpalinsk
I haven't had this problem, but if someone isn't able to help here, you might want to call Coast Airbrush. I know they repair Iwata's and I have always found their staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful both in-store and over the phone. Jaw
You will probably have to get an inside thread gauge to measure the thread count and a micrometer or dial caliper to measure the size of the nozzle figure out if the threads are tapered then hope to find a tap that size. If the threads are brass they may be unrepairable. Maybe Iwata could give you the specs. I would contact them first. Sorry but I don't have any others suggestions good luck
BobP
Some of the Iwata very small nozzles are quite costly but I think the Revolution is not one of them. I'd check on buying a new nozzle and save the hassle.
spoonpluggergino
I broke the threads off my Revolution, part of that nozzle or the thread part are still in the gun, if they are there you can jam something in that small orifice and back out the threads, that is the way I got mine out, than order a new nozzle for that model brush. Chicago air brush has a great website with all the parts listed with easy diagram to follow Gino
saltshaker
^^^^^^ What Bob said. Just be thankful it's not a Hi-Line ($45ish). Don't ask how I know.
dpalinsk
I think aulrich's issue is the nozzle threads in the body because he's looking for info on the right tap to use to clean up the threads.
mark poulson
I put my needle back in loose, and past the nozzle location, and use the needle itself to align the nozzle when I thread it back into my airbrush.
aulrich
Yea the thread in the body is what got damaged and it is right at the start, basically I can see a bit of a burr, and clean thread after that, I think there is a local shop that does repairs, but it does look like that part is pressed into the brush body if they can't clean that thread up it looks like I have a few spare parts for my next brush. I will contact the place posted as well see what the say.
BIGCREW
A local machine shop should be able to help you out, if its on the beginning of the thread and you can see the burr maybe try going with a drill bit a few thousands larger than the hole and just drill the first thread out, its small stuff to work with and wont take much to ruin it all togeather so if you dont have the tools and skills needed take it to someone that does good luck with it
aulrich
I was thinking a watch repair shop, that is some tiny thread, but I'll call Iwata first and go from there.
aulrich
Just wanted to post that, I was able to fix my brush. I had called IWATA and the service tech told me to thread in a toothpick and have it pickup the debris and get it out of the thread and as it turned out it worked, my airbrush is back together. Jaw
Good to hear. Toothpicks are much cheaper than an airbrush
