Predator Bass Baits
Has anyone tried this. I had a guy call me today and he said he uses it and coats about 700 lures a day with it. http://www.creativewholesale.com/ProductDetail/tabid/174/ProductID/15/Default.aspx?SortField=free3+desc%2Cproductname

RayburnGuy
There are some differences although I don't remember what they are. Ex-74 has been discussed before so you might find more info in the archives. Ben
bass100
The EX-74 has some UV inhibitors put into it. I read were the test results didn't show any difference though.
bobv
EX-74 EX-74 is an extremely clear, tough, high gloss surface coating formulated to produce a deep glass like appearance in a single layer on a sealed surface. Two or more layers are often applied for added depth and protection.EX-74 has been formulated with UV inhibitors to reduce yellowing of epoxy coatings. EX-74 is not weather resistant and is not recommended for unprotected exterior use. Exterior use will cause a chalky surface requiring sanding and recoating to restore the glossy surface.EX-74 has an extended "open time" which allows up to 25 minutes in the mixing container at 70º F and up to one hour working time on the surface being coated. Not recommended in freezing climates due to possibility of de-lamination.Always seal porous surfaces such as wood or canvas with a thin brushed on layer of EX-74 before pouring a top coat. See instructions in the link below for full details. Edited February 6, 2015 by bobv

Salty's
Some like to ummm...exaggerate a bit? I'd like to see anyone brush coat 700 lures a day. Good luck with that. "700 lures a day"????????
fatfingers
Envirotex lite is also "not recommended" for exterior use. It also lacks the UV protectors found in EX-74 which can have the effect of inhibiting the fading which is common with certain pigments such as red, orange, etc. I've been using the 74 for years and have had zero problem with chalking. Now I could imagine that being a problem with about any topcoat designed for exterior usage if one were to build say a picnic table and expose it to the elements year round.
