rwfleming Posted February 9, 2015 Report Share Posted February 9, 2015 guys i am trying to pour 1/8 oz Arky Jigs using wire as my weed guard.....i used JB Weld to fill the mold in order to use the wire.......my problem is.... after bending the wire on the end so as the wire wont come out.....when i put the wire in the mold....the wire turns 90 degrees to the other side and causes a blow out with the wire sticking out the side or leaving a hole.......any idea what i need ? thanks guys Richard Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JBarlow Posted February 9, 2015 Report Share Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) I had this problem when I made my own stiffer wires for the wacky mold. I came up with 2 options. Either bend less of the wire so it would not hit the sides of the mold or bend more so it would rest on the shank of the hook keeping it from rotating. I chose to bend less and then put the bend far enough into the mold so if it did turn then it would not hit the side of the cavity. Jig Man Posted February 10, 2015 Report Share Posted February 10, 2015 Do they come out if you don't bend them? I use that on my tube jig heads and my 1/8 Poison Tail. I don't bend the wire and haven't had problems with them coming out. yes they fall out in the Arky Mold.....but i have tried not bending them in my Poison Tail 1/8 oz....havent had a blow out issue with the Poison Tail 1/8 oz......
