sieglefish
Well it would appear that I messed up the mix ratio on my last batch of Etec and now the lures I coated still have a tacky feel to them after four days. Any suggestions on where I can go from here to possibly saving these?????
mark poulson
Years ago I was told by the tech at Etex that applying another properly mixed coat would take care of the problem. I would call them and ask if that's right.
Big Bass Man
Make sure the Etec is mixed 50/50 and stir it for two minutes. Then let sit for 10 minutes before applying to the lure.
Anglinarcher
Just put another coat on it. It will harden up eventually, but ...... why wait.

DingerBaits
Make sure you're curing your lures in a warmer temp too. I use a light bulb on a mechanical thermostat in my wheel box and keep it around 80 degrees when I cure mine. I had some cure problems due to basement temps being around 56 degrees. With the heat it will reduce the cure time significantly.
sieglefish
Thanks guys for all the great input, i just pulled a real bone head move on these which is why they always say we learn from our mistakes. i did a re-coat and they are doing fine now. Go figure its always on the ones that turned out the best that you end up screwing something up during the process. Thanks again for all the help !!!!!!
