kayaksticks
Really depends on the molds you are starting off. For me shad or swimbait style molds I started out with white, black, green pumpkin and for glitters it was silver and black when I first started. If you'r starting out with craw's or creature baits I started with some natural "craw" colors such as brown, orange, green's, and blue's. Over time you will accumulate a wide range of color's, at least I did. everytime I placed an order for plastic I order a couple of color's that I did not already have both in pigments and glitters. MonteSS
Watermelon and pumpkin are a must for me. Then add the watermelon and a few drops of pumpkin to get your green pumpkin. Two colorents make three great colors
alsworms
Soft plastic colors for me......any combination of red, green, and brown Glitter? Must start with black, red (by far the 2 most used), green & blue If you're anything like the rest of us, you'll eventually get every color & glitter anyway, but these are great to start with. Bassinfool
If I had to choose just four I would start off with watermelon, green pumpkin, junebug/black grape, and black. Flake would be black, red, blue and green.
MonteSS
Flake go .035-.040 for bass baits. Black, purple, green, blue, gold, red, orange, copper, silver are what I use most.
