smallmouthaholic
I mistakenly label my injector a 3:1 ratio. Basically w/ the 1:2.25 you use 1 part top color to 2 parts belly color. Here's some new pics that were finally taken outside w/out a flash showing true results and colors as the baits comer out of the molds. Some were taken using a single cavity,90 degree port which was notorious to produce mixing and a predominant top color and the larger bait from a 10 cavity vertical injection port Edited February 25, 2015 by smallmouthaholic
Frank
Looks good way better picture this time.
smallmouthaholic
Looks good way better picture this time. This is the 1st day you wouldn't get frostbite if you went outside. We've had low single digits @ night and strong cold winds during the day Ultraviolet light is always better then fluorescent w/ a flash. archery1
so these were shot with the 3:1 ratio. injector?
smallmouthaholic
so these were shot with the 3:1 ratio. injector? No- I stated I was incorrect in labeling the dual injector as a 3-1 ratio. The baits in all of the pics were shot w/ a 1-2.25 ratio injector. 1part top color w/ 2pts belly color pre-mixed in the shooting star system
archery1
that 2-1 injector from ultra molds.. the difference between injectors is the diameter of the 1 injector? i cant afford the setup and was wondering if i put a smaller diameter injector up against a bigger 1 i would get the same thing ? thanks again kevin
Apdriver
I was wondering the same thing. How does he get the different ratio?
Frank
He gets the ratio from different size tubing. It will work the same if you use a different diameter injector but it would be a challenge to push them down at the same rate. Not to mention filling them so one would not cool before the other. 2Brits
Great pictures of the baits Smallmouthaholic!! Just to clarify this for everyone. Our varying ratio injectors, use the same size (length) of tube for both of the injector barrels. We do however use different diameter tube which gives different volume and flow rates for each tube (barrel) of the injector resulting in the beautiful examples at the top of this thread. They will fill and empty at the same speed, you just have different volumes coming from each barrel. By altering the ratios you change the proportion of lamination in a bait. Hope this helps
MuskyGary
Now I know you have five different dual injectors. Could you shoot the same bait with each injector (dark top and white belly) and post on your web page so we could see the difference? ute
I visted with Rupert a few days ago and I said that they would be posting examples on you tube soon. They are listed on you tube under Ultramolds.
archery1
it would be swesome if ultra molds made an smaller tube injector for us guys that dont have shooting star so we could make good swimbaits also we would just use his smaller diameter injector with one of our existing injectors
