Bigkahuna
First of all thanks to all of you that post info on this site. I could not have come close to making a few baits if not for the trial and error of the folks before me. But I havn't seen much in saltwater baits primarily inshore. I've made a few of my favorites such as Mirrolure Catch jr and the mirrOminnow and I really like Joetheplumbers designs, check him out in the gallery. So If you've made inshore baits hows about showing them off and share some ideas with other folks. Thanks.
Anglinarcher
Nice looking baits, but ...... how do you tell inshore verses freshwater? LOL I am just having some fun with you, but now that I live close to both, I often use the same lures for both. It seems a Red or a Speck does not care if a LMB ate it last. Hmmmm. Matt M
I carved some larger top water baits for red fish. Red fish top water bait is awesome!
Bigkahuna
Good news for most of us reds and specks can't tell the diffence between a $20 Kevin VanDam pro series bassmaster whatever and a Joe shmo garage special... The Redfish Magic we get here at walley world are just a souped up spinner bait and work too! But I'd just feel kinda odd throwin one of those fat little crankbaits out on the flats.... saltshaker
I've caught as many reds as bass on Mann's Baby 1- Minus. Nice look'n work there, man.
Vodkaman
I guess the difference only matters if you are going for something subtle like a suspending lure. Dave
ReactionAttack
Those look great! That Black Mullet, in particular, would have a special place for me. Early morning before the sun is up, and when the water is clear, that would be the ticket at Grand Isle. May have to break out the airbrush. uncustered
Wow..... If you come to the NC beaches and that top lure is missing, I didn't take it. Pretty work!!!
benton B
My brother has been catching reds on a small wake bait I build for him. Gold foil with a orange belly seems to really work. It's been a real good test for my style of building, so far all baits have held up to the pressure.
joetheplumber
Nice baits man. I tell all my" bass fishing only" buddies that if they ever go with me and start catching big Redfish on top water, they'll never go back to bass fishing again.....same goes for finding a school of gator specks. I still love bass fishing tournaments and stuff but my true place now is the salt marsh here in NC. When the bite is on, there ain't nothing better. Keep up the good work and stay salty my friend..
