dlaery
I need to make some out of .051 wire. Where would I get the wire and what kind of wire? Stainless Steel? I have looked at the wire formers; Worth, Boggs. I have never used one. I have searched this forum and still wondering which one I should buy or is there a better one. I may only do 2 or 3 hundered or mabe 2 or 3 thousand. I might make a wire bender. Has anyone made one that works good? Thanks,
Richoc
What do is I buy the .051 straight SS wire with hook on the end. I get the longest ones, in bulk, 1000's at a time. You can get them at alot of places. Cast the lead/hook and paint them all with the wire straight. Real easy to manage when painting a bunch of them this way. Then I bend them as needed with a "little blue bender". That All I ever needed, as I make them with a modified "R" bend. This is also how I hand my spinner bait heads also. This way the wire length is all adjustable in the final assembly process. Short arm long arm it works for them all. If you are after a twisted eye, then your going to need help from another guy. You can buy the wires prebent at most of the places out there also.
Celticav
What he said about the blue bender, I got one early last year and now don't see how I did without it, JIM
dlaery
Hey, thanks for the info. I found some pics on the blue bender. It looks good for the price. I found another bender that someone has that I can go look at. I'll be getting one soon. Thanks!
