Color Question

Recommended Posts

Thank's JigMeister, I thought it was kinda of a dumb question for me to ask, but I do not have the Black Grape or Indigo Coloring, I have Jet Black and Purple. Was looking at another companies Black Grape Worms and they looked like a really dark Purple with Blue Flakes in it.

I actually have my 1st customer, who wants to buy some baits from me and of course his request was for something very close to ZOOMS Black Grape Color. :)

Think I will try a good bit of the Purple and add a little bit of Jet Black to it to get it darker and maybe a little bit of small blue flake. 8O

I searched Zoom's site and couldn't find Black Grape, but my eyes are getting worse every day. :| I found Sour Grape......probably not at all what you're looking for. The other color you mentioned sounds like maybe Berkley's "Blue Fleck"?? I know that one is a plum color (black grape mixed with strawberry).

You are right on the money if you want to make purple a little darker. Just add some black, as long as you don't overdo it. About 1 drop per 2 ounces should be enough. However, I'm a big fan of black grape. If you can get some on your next order, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Like the guys said, the basic color is purple and black. I think zooms has a few drops of red added too. I use LC black grape and it is identical to "other brands" black grape. If you have purple, black , red and blue dye you should be able to get it pretty close starting with ?black,? purple (1 drop per OZ, so 3 or 4 Jet Black and 3 or 4 purple per cup of plastic)and adding about 2 drops per cup of either blue or red (violet or berry tints respectively). The better Black grape colors will have tiny silver or holo flake and some blue or green larger flake. Personal preference I guess. Z
