jonister
So i was given some 30% acrylic concrete sealer and was wondering if it will work on a lure. I put some on a popsickle stick to try it out and it seems to be curing good. I did all the reading i could and searched alot on it but im not sure if 30% is good enough. any thoughts? thanks guys! mark poulson
I'd suggest doing your typical paint scheme on a popsicle stick before you coat it with the sealer, to see if the sealer plays well with your paint.
rhahn427
What brand is it
jonister
It is called Knife River cure and seal concrete sealer 30% pure acrylic compound. I just read on the side that it is not recommended for use with water. hmm ill still give it a try. Mark, will do! Also, the stuff i applyied on friday is hard and doesnt smell bad but it is still dentable so i hit it with the hairbrush again. Ill see what happens. Thanks guys! jonister
As an update to this, i want to use it on one of my swimbaits but on another lure i did, it is still not fingernail proof. i coated this lure maybe 5 days ago or so, is this normal for concrete sealers to take a long time to be fingernail proof, or has it gotten too old? i would hate to ruin my swimbait because it never cures fully. Any opinions or tips are greatly appreciated! if this stuff doesnt work out i will be trying AC1315. Thanks!
mark poulson
My AC1315 is hard enough to fish after a one day cure. I bought it late last year, so it's still "new".
jonister
It is fishable, but it doesnt look "fully cured" as i can dent it with a fingernail. I have some floats that have had a month to cure and they are harder but still fingernail dentable. its almost like e-tex, but harder. im ok with this feel, but im not sure if i can paint it or not at this point. im worried it may bubble because its not done gassing off. Maybe ill just have to try painting it?
