joelhains
I just picked up some spike it yesterday. I've been wanting to give it a try for a while. I dipped a few of my baits. I really like the look. My question is about the long term. If I package them together will the color bleed into the other baits in the pack? and with just dipping the tail, will the color bleed in the rest of the bait over time? DaveMc1
Just the nature of how that dip works, yes it will bleed.
alsworms
Dave nailed it. I've used lots of Spike-It dips in the past and they DO bleed, but I found that if you let them sit for a couple days and package them in salt (rather than oil) the colors will hold much longer. joelhains
OK thanks guys. If they bleed at all I can't sell them. I'll just use it on my personal baits.
smallmouthaholic
Spike-it worm paint will not bleed
joelhains
How is is the worm paint applied? Dipped, brushed, sprayed?
DaveMc1
you may be able to do the same with the SB Coat paint from LureWorks (spike-it). Get a can of the Chartreuse and thin it a little with their thinner and dip the tails in, it will not bleed, and if you thin it enough you may be able to dip it.
joelhains
Good call on the SB paint. I'll have to give that stuff a try!
