junyaah
I was told that super glue would be good to use to glue the weed guard to my jigs. It does hold good but when it dries, it leaves a white finish over my jig head. It also dulls my paint. I can get most of it off. What is a better glue to use? I am currently using gorilla glue super glue in gel. Just use a small amount. Thanks.
Ccfish
I use the locktite gel superglue. Just dont fill the hole up too much and it doesnt get on your weed guard or paint. Some guys use two part epoxy.
PaJay
X2 on the Locktite Gel super glue. It doesn't take much. Just a little drop in the hole and you'll once in a while get a little white residue around the base of the guard. It doesn't take much. cadman
Locktite gel super glue on jigs that are not clearcoated, and D2T on jigs that will get clearcoated because of the 2D or 3D eyes.
junyaah
I read another post and learned a few things. The fan trick jeeps the white residue off when using super glue. But I had some 2 part epoxy and tried it and it works great but I couldn't mix a lot at a time because it dries so quick. Thanks guys.
DaBehr
I like to use Devcon 2 ton epoxy...you get a longer working time plus no white residue issues. I also coat the heads of some of my fancy jigs and spinner baits with it also. (It's commonly used to top coat custom painted crank baits.) Only down side is that you can't fish the baits until the next day.

Do not use a fan when you are using D2T epoxy, your application time will be reduced drastically and you will only get frustrated.
Ccfish
Just curious what is the fan idea?
junyaah
When you are using gel super glue to glue your weed guards to your jig heads. Set them in front of a fan to dry to prevent the white residue. It is caused by the fumes the glue gives off.
josh'sjigs
I really like a product called E6000. IT seems to work great and dries clear.
