MuskyGary
I need a jig hook to replace the 570 which is longer. The only thing I can find is the 574. Oh yes it needs to be a lite wire hook to fit in the football mold
smalljaw
The Mustad 32831 is a long shank hook but it only comes in 3/0 and 4/0 sizes.
MuskyGary
Thanks Smalljaw, I think that will work! Don't know how I missed it. I did check before I posted this. Knew someone would have something.
smalljaw
MuskyGary, I use that hook in a 3/0 for my 1/4oz fish head spins and a 4/0 for the 3/8oz and 1/2oz fish head spins. I really like it, and I actually use the Eagle Claw version, the L2831BP, very sharp and surprisingly strong, I hope they work for you. goodtimesfishing
Smalljaw- Having used both the 32831 and the L2831BP, is there one you prefer over the other? Or would you say they are equal?
smalljaw
I'll be honest, the Eagle Claw Black Platinum hooks are now my preferred hook. I do have a few Owner hooks that I like along with some others but bang for buck isn't any better with the black platinum hooks. The EC and Mustad both hold a point for a very long time, the difference is the EC has a needle point that feel sharper to me and on the water it has proven itself in everything from heavy flipping jigs to Eakins style finesse jigs and even small hair jigs, no problems with wire diameters or hook sharpness. Excellent hooks at any price but a steal at what they go for.
