JRammit
So ive made a few topwaters, but when you think hard bait, you think crank baits!! Im proud to say i finally finished my 1st working crank bait!!!... Which presented its own set of challenges since it is not a "normal" crank bait... I dont know how to make em pretty yet, but thanks to all of you i know how to make em work! http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/14610-the-ilc-1-in-line-crank/ Special thanks to Dave, Mark and Vic for your help (and for putting up with my babbling.. Ha ha!) I feel like part of the club now!!!
Vodkaman
The fact that you had to work at it, makes it all the more special in my opinion. Your first efforts remind me of my first efforts; I refused to go for the tried and tested and wanted to try ideas of my own. Without a knowledge of what was going on, they were mostly doomed from the start, but before long things started to come together. Most builders talk about the first fish caught on a home made. I honestly cannot remember that at all, it may have been in the early days when I was in Sweden or it may have been just a couple of years ago, here in Indonesia. BUT, I can remember my first successful swim of a crank, I can remember my first hunter build, the first multi-section swim, the first time I threw the hinged lip design. These were the moments that mattered to me. And yes, it does feel like a club, in fact it is. One were everyone helps you with problems, queries, techniques, issues and will deliver a pat on the back when you nail it. A club that I am proud to be a member of - welcome Dave
Nathan
JRammit, Congrats. on your first build...That style bait can be challenging for a seasoned hard bait guy..let alone your first build..well done!!..Nathan
mark poulson
I think of TU as more of a family. We help each other, share what we can when we can, and put up with each other's craziness! Plus, there's a lotta love here!
bass100
Congrats on your first crank. I love that you didn't stay traditional. I hope you have a blast fishing it. Great job.

littleriver
Nice work Jeremy! Thank you for sharing it with us. You must like a challenge to take on this design for your first bait. Congrats on making it a success. Here is to many more...... It's a great club filled with lots of interesting people. Many of whom, I am deeply indebted and eternally grateful. Because, I do love the joy and satisfaction I get every time I see one of my babies swim for the first time. Thanks
JRammit
Thanks everyone!!!... I DO enjoy a challenge!.. I think we all do, or we would be at Cabelas instead of TU! I say "club" because hard baits are only one part of this great site... To me its more than a club, and different than family (families rarely have more in common than blood).... For me its like i found a home away from home.... I rarely go to bars anymore, but i could compare it to a bar youve frequented for years and everybody knows your name (there may have been a TV show about it)...... Everyone is there for the same reason, the regulars are always interested in what each other have to say, there might be the occasional scuffle out in the parking lot but it usually ends in a hand shake....... Im sure we all have friends and family that we show our creations to, and im sure their responses are all the same... Its nice to be amongst those who REALLY understand the amount of work and pride involved with this hobby...!
JBlaze
Congrats JRammit. That is a special and very satisfying thing you just acccomplished. I understand how you feel about," the club". Some great people here and it does feel like lots of them are friends. There are more positive attitudes and encouraging words here than anywhere I have ever been. I would really miss this TU should anything ever happen to it. I can see that you have been infected with, The Addiction" There is no cure but you will need more and more of this Tacklitis. Good Luck John

JRammit
John... No, i wish i learned how to weld at some point in my life, but i didn't... I got the tank from work, i deliver natural gas compressor oil, this is an old containment from one of our old scrap tanks...... It was free!!!
