Bassinjunkie88
Can someone refer me to a post where it talks about getting into making their own swimbait\glider? I'm a plastics guy and would like to try it out so I just need as much info as possible. Is there a good beginners post that covers carving, weighting, jointing, painting, sealing...Thanks

JRammit
I'm a plastics guy and would like to try it out Me too (3 months ago)... My advice would be start with something simple (for me it was topwater baits), this introduces you to the basic challenges of construction, which you will overcome and carry with you to more complex projects... If you are dead set on building one type of bait, then build a few that you never intend to fish with... Take pictures, videos, hang them on the wall and watch your progression! Even with the great wealth of knowlege and instructions here on TU, human error is always a factor!.... If you nail it on your first try, then you are off to a far better start than me!!! mark poulson
If you're just getting started, look at the "Why PVC" stick at the top of this forum.
Ichthus
Topwaters are good starts. Then move onto Crankbaits. After that, I would suggest making a swimbait with a diving lip on it. That's how I progressed.
