brian ranger619
Hay guys I was reading on the other post about using a make up brush and 35mm canisters for two toning your jigs. well here's a little trick I learned from T/A I went out and bought a small 1 cup fine mesh strainer, I have a bunch now I took the handle and bent it into a U shape, I add about a 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of my second color I want to use then lightly tap the handle a couple of times. this will get you a nice even coat. be sure and test first..... I hope this might help some of you out. it really works great when you get the hang of it. thats my tip for the day!! see ya!! brian

brian ranger619
Ledhed I have done it a few times, just to see if the flake will sift through. here is my steps I use, 1) main color 2)sift second color 3) clear coat giltter or flake this takes me less than 1 minute to do it all. wait until you see my jigs and tell me what you think of the colors. you will Freak................. see ya!! brian
LedHed
Brian Still waiting?.. Been messing around with Columbia Coating?s Illusion paint. WOW ? good stuff, you might be interested in trying some. I got the sample kit. They say on the web site that it works on all colors ? don?t know about that. Works great on their mirror black with holographic glitter.
musky_man
Brian, Another trick to two-tone jigs and blades - and it is simple and works well -- is to use a women's make-up brush. Get one that is about 1/2 inch wide and 1/8 inch thick. Once the first coat is applied. reheat the jig/blade, dip the tips of the make-up brush in the PP and then gently tap the brush over the jig/blade. The paint falls off in a cloud-like fashiion (assuming you have not over-loaded the brush) and gives a real nice finish. I have been doing that for a few years now and it works well. The most common mistake is over-loading the brush with PP. It take a few time to get the hang of it, but try it on some garbage stuff and you will see that it works well.
