bdbone
Okay I painted some jigs and buzzheads starting with white base, colored on top of that with acrylic and clear coated with enviro lite but after a half day of fishing the paint is coming off in chunks. What did I do wrong? Please help thank you.
LedHed
Did you clean (prep) your lead before you painted the primer coat?
Celticav
I hit mine off with a coat of self-etching primer as soon as they are cool enough, helps to avoid this problem. If your using unpainted heads ordered from a caster then I would do like Ledhed mentioned and clean them before priming (still recomend the self-etching stuff though), JIM
Fat Ratz
I order my self-etch primer from the Eastwood Company and comes already thinned ready for spraying. Dries almost instantly and I have never had a paint failure (knock on wood) and it gives a good tooth for the paint to adhere to.
bdbone
Thanks, I'll try the self etch primer. Wonder if I can buy it locally?
Fat Ratz
Yeah, check with a auto supply store. It also comes in spray cans. Wal-Mart may even carry it.
