JRammit
I wish i could help, im just getting into tying jigs... But i dont plan on buying any hair or feathers Instead, i have several friends who hunt deer... Since the tails are no use to them, im sure i will have no problem getting my hands on some (and i duck hunt, so feathers are supplied as well) I dont know if this is an option for you... Or if you can wait that long (i couldn't, i already bought a couple from Cabelas).... But ive found a few threads here on preserving and dying your own buck tails...... Musky0503
Cabelas seemed good just a long drive, som 30 miles or so. I'd rather support the "little guy" so to speak, then give me money to big stores. Don't know if LPO won't fit that but I think they would. As far as I know they don't sponsor fishing tournements or make a 7 figure income.
JRammit
Same here (27 miles to Cabelas from my house) But id rather keep my money than give it to anyone (ha ha)...... I live in Texas, so hunting season is BIG!!!.... I might end up with more deer hair than i know what to do with, if so ill keep you in mind
Jig Man
I've gotten a lot of tails from Stamina Inc. There colors have always been bright.

JimP
Muskey: Buy in bulk off ebay (seems like someone always has bulk tails on there) and dye them yourself. I got tired of paying $7.00 for a pack of strung saddle hackles. Open them up and you had a six inch strip of feathers. I was able to buy a six foot strip for $17.00. I know from experience that Rit dye works well on feathers. There was a thread on this board just a while ago about dying hair and feathers. A search should find that for you. Some guys also use "Kool-Aid" as well as "Rit" among other brand names. Protein items like hair and feathers an Acid die is usually recommended. Here is a link to your "Acid Dye": http://www.dharmatrading.com/dyes/dharma-acid-dyes.html?lnav=dyes.html This link is anything you need for dying anything: http://www.dharmatrading.com/ This link is driections for dying with Kool-Aid and food coloring: http://www.dyeyouryarn.com/ This link is one persons experience dying stuff (mixed opinion): http://singlebarbed.com/2010/01/04/part-1-the-timid-fellows-guide-to-dyeing/ Have a bunch of fun, and keep us informed.
