Will
Hello everyone, I have never used plastic worms to catch anything since I don't usually do fresh water fishing by I've been told that the senko look alikes are good to catch me a good bass and since I have a lake near by where I live, I have decided to give the fresh water fishing a chance. I'm planning on buying a two-piece stix mold from either Del or Bob (haven't decided yet) but I am very uncertain as to what size works the best in your opinion. Can anyone throw some suggestions? Greatly appreciated.
Tm Customs
Definatley buy bob's mold it is the best in my opnion and the price is right. Then buy some calhoun plastic & softener from dlew. I sell one senko per month and this is what I use. Then go to sam's club or any other store and buy some popcorn salt. To make senkos use this recipie: 1 cup plstic 1/4cup softener 1/2-1/3 cup salt if fishing shallow water use a 1/3. I suggest the 5'' senkos and they are not too big for small fish like some guys think I have cought 4'' bass and even pumkinseeds on them. If your fishing a lake it probaly has cover so the best way to fish them is usally a texas rig with no weight so they wiggle as the fall. So guys like a wacky rig which is a hook through the center, pesonally I dont care for it.
Delw
Will as far as size it all depends on the time of the year and location of your lakes. some its just a personal prefference. same goes with colors. I make a combo stik molds with 4 and 5's in them. As far as who to buy it from , I wont touch that. I will say that Alum molds are the only way to go. the detail will always last and the bait will come out perfectly everytime. Delw
Tm Customs
Yeah Dlew has a good idea there with his mold having 4'' and 5'' combo, although I dont see why they are more expensive than bobs all I see in the difference is the fancy nuts insted of the wing nuts bob uses. Dlew can you tell me why your molds are more expensive? Are the better or what is different about them? I am just curious to know?
Will
Thank you guys. I appreciate your input very much!
bigbasser
In dels defense, I believe his molds are 7 stick molds. So if you bought two of bobs you would get one more stick bait. Not a big deal. Delw was the first one to have them available on the website so he set the precedent. Nothing wrong with that! On the other hand I have bought two of als molds which have 4 cavaties each only because I was short on money. They are great molds and you can't go wrong with them. Also I have not bought any molds from Delw so I can't comment but I am sure his molds are great too. I plan on placing an order with Delw soon. Question for Delw though, is the salt on your website popcorn salt or super fine? I am considering buying some with a 5 gallon order of calhouns. Delw how is the salt and do you use it? Thanks - Joe
Delw
Bigbasser. The salt we have for sale is the ultrafine salt. it works pretty good and mix's nice. I am pretty happy with it for my personal use and I have a few guys that buy it and love it. I make 4 cavity ones as well. Delw
