flipper2
Hi everyone, I'm trying to reproduce the Tennessee shad colors from the old Bagley killer B's. Do I build this color or is it a solid? Also, the side color looks more like a pearl white or silver than opaque white. Any tips welcomed! mark poulson
Just by looking at photos when I googled it, it looks like a white base, pearl silver shoulders and back, black scaling, and orange belly accent. I couldn't tell if the white is a pearl white or not, but I'd probably do it with pearl.
flipper2
Yeah Mark, I think the sides are pearl. But what's puzzling me is the shoulder color, it looks kind of greenish gold.
osutodd
Try gold over black.

flipper2
Thanks Dink master, Those baits are exactly what I am trying to achieve. It must of been my eyes playing tricks on me with the greenish tint.

benton B
I've used a green-gold flip/flop paint to get that affect.
barrybait
Very nice Skeeter. I would say you nailed it with an exclamation point! The interesting part to me is the Pearl Ex pigments. Didn't know anything about them. Tennessee shad is a great pattern that I have not painted to date but when I do a baby bass pattern, I like to get that gold/bronze hue on the moss green at the shoulder. Can you mix that pigment in Createx transparent base? I really need a few more jars of stuff on my bench! Thanks, Barry
flipper2
Thanks everyone! Nailed it, I'll try to post some pictures soon. One neat thing, I noticed when I sprayed the black over the pearl sides it created a light gold line or edge. The only trouble is now the bait is to pretty to fish.....
